The time has come for another update from Omdia, a unit of Informa. Omdia is one of the most well-established global, cross-tech analyst firms. It was formed in 2020 when Informa combined the considerable analyst and research assets of Ovum, IHS Markit Technology, Tractica and Heavy Reading into a single entity.
If you search for Omdia analysts and researchers on their site, it suggests there are 365 (not one for each day – just a coincidence) experts and consultants, placed all around the world – the web site claims 400+! While that count doesn’t quite reach the analyst/researcher/consultant numbers boasted by “tier one” Gartner or IDC, it isn’t that far behind “tier one” Forrester. Omdia’s breadth and depth, in terms of coverage and geography, certainly qualifies Omdia as a “tier 2A” or perhaps “tier 1B” firm. Suffice it to say that the firm has considerable reach, and as an AR professional you should have a solid understanding of the value, coverage and influence of this firm.
The presentation by Omdia leaders will delve into the firm’s research coverage and value proposition. Presenters will include Nick Fielden / chief commercial officer (LinkedIn), and Bill Morelli / chief research officer (LinkedIn). Nick and Bill will answer IIAR> member questions during open Q&A in the last 15 minutes of the session and after their presentation.
