Analyst Relations (AR) is a highly specialized marketing discipline whose purpose is to facilitate a two-way information exchange between vendors and industry analysts, such as Gartner, Forrester and AMR.  Outbound communications from the firm to the analysts are designed to gain mind share and favorably position the firm’s services against competitors.  By influencing analyst opinions of these services, DTT will have an advantage in securing leads and referrals from analysts and in rating favorably in analyst reports.  Inbound communications to the firm from analysts serve as a conduit for information about competitors, market trends, new technologies and market opinions on DTT.  Analyst communications also can serve as a source of advice in shaping and directing marketing messages or firm strategies.


As an autonomous member of the AR program, the manager will serve as the AR expert for the business unit(s) to which s/he is assigned.  Within the framework of the enterprise message and strategic plan for AR, the manager will work with practice leaders to identify and build relationships with key analysts, identify opportunities and mitigate risk, build effective messages, and create and drive a BU-level plan for effective analyst relations.

 Primary responsibilities include:

  • Management of the AR program in designated business units:
  • Create a formal AR plan for designate BU(s)
  • Strategic to the BU
  • Based on goals developed with BU leaders
  • Facilitating both inbound and outbound communications
  • Driven by an interaction calendar
  • Work with practice leaders to develop an effective message for the practice that is consistent with enterprise messaging
  • Drive and manage processes for analyst and partner interactions
  • Guide partners before and during analyst interactions
  • Track and build relationships with key analysts
  • Manage diverse analyst requests
  • Prepare analyst briefing tours, presentations, and documents
  • Manage and create diverse interaction opportunities
  • Ensure continuous distribution of information to analysts to increase awareness
  • Work with practice leaders to secure analyst leads and referrals and to generate positive analyst reports

Relationship management:

Internal

  • Establish relationships with key partners throughout the designated practice(s)
  • Establish a strong connection to marketing peers for the purpose of information sharing and consistency in external communications

External

  • Define and facilitate opportunities with target analysts
  • Integrate with the corporate communications team in other external marketing-related programs and activities

Desired experience and skillset includes:

  • Manager level or higher
  • Corporate communications and marketing background (preferred)
  • Understanding of firm service offerings and the consulting industry in general
  • Ability to form relationships with experts in all areas of firm operations, including Marketing, Global Practice Leads and field partners
  • Self starter with proven project and business management skills
  • Polished communicator with strong presentation skills
  • Extremely collaborative style and approachable demeanor
