German IIAR Summer Stammtisch 2017: scope of AR, ISG/Experton and Paulaner

One of the most picturesque beer gardens in Munich was the setting for this year’s IIAR German Chapter Summer Event, gathering AR professionals and industry analysts. Our topic of the night was what it takes to make an analyst relations (AR) program mature and strong.

As we discussed, what success looks like actually depends on your business objectives and expectations of the individual companies and stakeholders. We all recognised that “AR” has a very wide scope, since it also covers many complementary disciplines and – depending on your job – may include Market Intelligence, Go-to-Market, PR, Sales Enablement, Strategy, or all of these. 3rd German IIAR Stammtisch on October 20th

The third IIAR Stammtisch meeting in Germany will bring together AR professionals with a focus on the German market to discuss common ground and exchange news and views, during after-work drinks in a popular Munich bar.

As a key topic for this Stammtisch, we’ve chosen “Analyst Relations for medium-sized businesses and what it can teach to AR professionals of large companies and vice versa”. Once again we are inviting locally-based analysts to join us.

IIAR Germany 2nd Stammtisch Event

The IIAR German Chapter will be holding its 2nd Stammtisch Event on the 7th October 2014. Starting at 6pm CET German AR Professionals will be meeting at the Ella Restaurant, Munich. The topic for this meetings discussion is – AR measurement and its relevance for successful positioning of AR towards internal stakeholders. (German characteristics). The IIAR German Chapter announces its first  “IIAR Stammtisch” (IIAR AR Café) event, gathering AR professionals interested in learning and discussing about the German specifics of AR. The event will be held on Tuesday 24th June, 5pm CET in Munich.
We will have an official part where Simon Jones (LinkedIn@MrNesjo), Horst Kuchling (LinkedIn@hkurchling) and Yvonne Kaupp (LinkedIn@YveKaupp) will talk about the opportunities and challenges of Analyst Relations serving the German market . Making the most of CeBIT (even at the last minute)

CeBIT logoIt’s big, and it’s just around the corner – it’s CeBIT time again. For AR professionals attending the show, the IIAR has put together a new paper sharing expert tips, both from ARs and analysts, on how to best use CeBIT to connect with and build relationships with analysts. This is available free of charge in our IIAR Members Area.

Even though CeBIT looms large – many vendors begin media briefings in Hanover on Sunday – both ARs and analysts also agree that it is still possible to set up meetings at short notice. However, CeBIT is not the place to expose analysts to a full-on deep dives into a new or revised strategy. The IIAR opens its German Chapter

As an analyst relations manager you may ask yourself the question: Should I do any specific German AR? Should I run an activity at CeBIT in Hanover, or at the Supercomputing show in Leipzig or set up exclusive f2f meetings with analysts at some location like Munich or Frankfurt, and maybe do it in local language? Should I send my stakeholders to a local analyst event like the Gartner CIO summit in Berlin?
